<dc:title>Letter from Palon Heinrich Ludwig von Boguslawski, Breslau to Edward Sabine</dc:title>
<dc:description>Boguslawski informs Sabine that he has made observations with the two instruments provided by Sabine during the last magnetic term. Discusses the difficulties that German observatories have to contend with. However, Boguslawski notes that ‘difficulties steel our energies’. Boguslawski has engaged and instructed double number of observers and discusses their duties. Discussion on observations of magnetic variation. Boguslawski discusses his desire for a separate magnetic observatory but fears this is a very distant endeavour. Boguslawski thanks Professor [Humphrey] Lloyd for his paper ‘on the mutual action of permanent magnets’, and received instruction that he has successfully implemented.</dc:description>
