<dc:title>Letter from Charles Chambers, Colaba Observatory [Mumbai] Bombay to [Edward Sabine]</dc:title>
<dc:description>Discussion regarding the observations at [Colaba Observatory], their probable errors, the dip observations from April 1867 to December 1968, declination and horizontal force observations. Chambers has written a paper regarding the explanation to the probable error in the weekly determination of the dip which he will send Sabine shortly. Updates Sabine on the building work at the observatory, construction of the magnetograph ‘house’ and photographic room, and the instruments. Chambers has recently taken up ‘riding’ which has significantly improved his health. They recently received a visit from Colonel [William James] Smythe.</dc:description>
