<dc:title>Letter from Charles Chambers, Colaba Observatory [Mumbai] Bombay to Edward Sabine</dc:title>
<dc:description>Chambers informs Sabine that his brother [Frederick Chambers] has modified his paper on the diurnal variations and barometric pressure at [Mumbai] Bombay, and would be grateful if the Royal Society could publish it in any form. Chambers also sent a small paper written together with Professor [George Gabriel] Stokes regarding planetary influence on disturbance of magnetic declination at [Mumbai] Bombay. Captain Heaviside has recently left Mumbai after conducting a series of experiments with the Royal Society’s and Russian pendulums. Chambers expresses his happiness at Sir George [Biddell] Airy adopting one of his suggestions at [Greenwich].</dc:description>
