Letter from Francis Baily, 37 Tavistock Place to [A] Miles Bailey informs Miles that he has not seen the tripods stand for the pendulum telescope. Bailey notes that there is no part of the apparatus such as the diaphragm or scale attached to the government (or Kater’s) pendulum, it is attached to the pendulum of the Astronomical Society. 9 July 1839
