Letter from Karl von Scherzer, Gornobbio, Lago di Como to [Edward Sabine] Scherzer thanks Sabine for presenting ‘a copy of the description of the [Novara] expedition’ on his behalf to The Royal Society and has since prepared the ‘statistical part’ for print. Intends ‘to prepare the ethnological material gathered during the voyage’. Scherzer has been at Lake Como and intends to return to Vienna ‘in about three weeks’. Scherzer asks Sabine to relay the results of experiments with gun cotton in [England]. 12 April 1865
