Devonport to Edward Sabine Mr Stokes has arranged with Woollcombe for his paper [reference to ‘An account of some experiments with eccentric oblate bodies and disks as projectiles’] should be read on the 13th. The ‘O. S. Committee’ will see trails of ‘penetration’ of Woollcombe’s model at Woolwich, the results which will be in ‘tabular form to The Royal Society’. 6 March 1862
