Further notes state that the paper was put in the R[egister] B[ook] [volume] 1 [page] 106 and 'Ph[ilosophical] Trans[actions] 137. Discusses the etymology of the word 'cameleon' and the contemporary views, connotations and parables associated with the animal. The main part of the paper comprises a detailed anatomical study of the cameleon based on observations of a specimen, and dissection after its death.
