On the last page of the letter it is dated 15 September 1697.

There is an appendix entitled 'Historia; et explicatio figurarum, Embryon quatuor sephmanarum, et placentam cotyledoniformem exhibentium'. This relates to the development of the embryo and placenta at four weeks.
