Commencing: 'Whereas the late Majesty King Charles the Second, by His Letters Patent...' and continuing 'Now I James Earl of Morton, at this time President of the Royal Society, by virtue of these Powers and Authorities aforesaid, do by these present nominate and appoint The Right Honourable Hugh Lord Willoughby of Parham being one of the present Council of the said Royal Society, to be together with James West and James Burrow Esquires my Deputy in the said office of President...'         

Signed 'Morton P.R.S.' and sealed by him. Sealed and delivered in the presence of Thomas Birch and Charles Morton. With an embossed stamp for two shillings and sixpence. </dc:description>
