<dc:title>Copy letter, JWL [John William Lubbock], RS [Royal Society], to J B [Joseph Barclay] Pentland </dc:title>
<dc:description>The contents of his letter of 14 November have been communicated to Council of the Royal Society and his proposal accepted. The valuable present should be forwarded so that the works could be included in the Library catalogue. He asks Pentland to mention to M. Arago that the British Association has given Lubbock funds for the best observations and if M.Poisson can furnish him with advice on the subject he would be grateful. He asks if the official authority at the Depot de la Marine could communicate directly on their munificent offer, so that a reply could be made in due form. </dc:description>
