<dc:title>Copy letter, JWL [John William Lubbock], Rl Socy [Royal Society], to Mr Cross, Mablethorpe</dc:title>
<dc:description>Lubbock has attended to Cross's letter of 4 August and he will bring the subject up at next Council. The letter came when almost everyone was out of town and he apologises for not responding sooner. The letter was mislaid by the Society's solicitor. He notes the expense of defending the tithe suits which is borne by the Royal Society. He can say nothing yet on rent reduction, but Cross's letters should be directed to Mr Roberton.</dc:description>
