<dc:title>Copy letter, James Hudson, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society, to Revd. John Hailstone</dc:title>
<dc:description>Replying to Hailstone's enquiry, the temperature corrections applied to the Society's barometer are from a table by Professor [Heinrich Christian] Schumacher adapted for the English barometer. The Society's barometer does not have a continuous brass scale, so only the first part of the table is used. Mr Hussey has recently published this in a different form, in the Philosophical Magazine. Hudson explains how observations in the printed tables of the Royal Society Meteorological Register are corrected. </dc:description>
