Copy letter from C R [Charles Richard] Weld, the Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society; to M [Michael] Macann Informs of the thanks of the Council for the paper 'Total reflection at the surface of any crystal.' Although the Committee of Papers found it unsuitable to publish it in its present state, it will be deposited in the archives. The President was under the impression the paper would be published at the time he was writing to Macann [See RR/1/154 and MS/426/338] 21 July 1848
