Copy letter from [George Gabriel] Stokes, Secretary of the Royal Society; to [William Edward] Ayrton Informs that [William Edward] Ayrton's paper can be published in Proceedings as it is, were it not for the diagrams, as it is too large. Informs the aim is to give the reader an idea of the method. Asks if Ayrton can reduce the diagrams, and if he has any estimates for this. Also gives the option of having the Royal Society attempt to reduce the diagram, although it should not be difficult if a small reduction is needed. 29 November 1879
