Copy, letter to the Secretary of the Board of Education Is directed by the Minister of Munitions to inform the Board of Education that it is prepared to use horse chestnuts in place of maize for production of explosives -- that it is proposed for schoolchildren to collect the nuts, with the cooperation of the education authorities -- that the President should approve the proposal as soon as possible. Encloses a draft of the circular to be sent to education authorities and notes that as soon as Mr Fisher concurs, the scheme will be annouced to the press. August 1917
