Letter from [William B Hardy] to Sir A Steel-Maitland of the Board of Trade Gives information on the current experiments with chestnuts and acorns at the request of Udny Yule. Notes that harvesting of chestnuts for production of alcohol and acetone is underway, and experiments with yeast in progress -- that acorns are being collected 'in a limited disctrict' to see if they can be used in acetone production. 22 October 1917
