Letter from J Field Beale to William B Hardy Was interested in the [Committee's] report on potatoes -- has been trying to encourage use of potatoes in bread-making -- has suggested that the Food Controller allow a rebate to bring potatoes to the level of flour -- thinks the War Cabinet has agreed to a rebate, which seems to be approved of by the bakers -- a good saving of cereals will result if adpoted. 29 October 1917
