<dc:title>Letter from Edward L S [Lygon Somers] Cocks, 43 Charing Cross, to [Alfred Bray] Kempe</dc:title>
<dc:description>[Cyril] Longhurst has Scarlet Fever, and Hodge 'has had a fit' which left Cocks and [Clements] Markham stranded yesterday. As there are many applications for payments, Cocks has written cheques for £3,800 worth of 'undoubted claims', and hopes Kempe will approve or sign these upon his return. [Robert] Chalmers was not available so Cocks acted as he thought best. Cocks will be away from 5 to 17 October and will then return to London. He hopes Kempe is having a good time in Venice.</dc:description>
