Draft letter from A B [Alfred Bray] Kempe, 10 Porchester Square, Hyde Park, to Sir Clements [Markham] Kempe has discussed the Antarctic finances with Sir [William] Huggins and Sir [Michael] Foster. They agree that the Government should be asked to contribute before any appeal is made to the public. They will discuss it with the other officers at the Royal Society Council meeting on 23 [April]. [Robert Falcon] Scott may still be able to get out of the ice and return, so propses to do nothing further for now. 7 April 1903
