<dc:title>Letter from Sir Clements Markham, 21 Eccleston Square, to [Alfred Bray] Kempe</dc:title>
<dc:description>Markham has signed the joint letter but feels 'much aggrieved' about its contents. In his opinion a second relief ship was unneccessary and it may be impossible to have one ready this year. 'I fear that this unnecessary demand for a large further sum will seriously injure any prospect of help'. Markham believes his own estimates ought to have been used instead. 'In the present case I certainly do feel aggrieved at what I have been almost forced to sign merely to avoid interminable delay'. Must be careful not to contradict each other if separate letters become necessary.</dc:description>
