Appointment of Lieutenant Charles Royds as Third Executive Officer and Reginald Skelton as Engineer of the Expedition. The Executive Committee proposals for the Civilian Scientific Staff were accepted. Professor [James Arthur] Pollock to be offered the post of Physicist, and T V [Thomas Vere] Hodgson to be appointed Zoologist.

Questions concerning the ship's crew and wages were considered.

The name of the ship for the expedition was discussed, and 'Discovery' was chosen.

A letter from [Robert Falcon] Scott was read, accepting the appointment as Commander of the Expedition.</dc:description>
