  <dc:description>Written at the winter quarters of the 'Discovery'. Describes a sledging expedition that set out on 20 December 1902. A week's worth of supplies were left at Depot A for the southern expedition party on 31 December, following which they travelled south for two weeks before turning back due to bad weather. They returned to Depot A on 24 January 1903 and arrived back at the 'Discovery' on 30 January. The health of the party was good.</dc:description>
