<dc:title>Letter from James Thomson, 22 Wentworth Place, Newcastle on Tyne, to [Joseph] Larmor</dc:title>
<dc:description>Pressures of duty prevented him from answering Larmor's letter of 27 January. He remains hopeful that Larmor will be able to tackle the 'Life' of his uncle [Lord Kelvin] and he agrees there ought to be some notice of the collaboration with Thomson's father. They have found letters and papers which they are readying for publication, perhaps a reprint of his father's papers with some biographical matter. He will look for letters on his uncle's life. He has found that a paper read at the Royal Society on 6 June 1907 by F.T. [Frederick Thomas] Trouton which contains an analogy with James Thomson's curve of transition, and he asks for a copy. He is gratified by the 'handsome sum' subscribed in Belfast for the memorial to Kelvin.</dc:description>
