He thinks that [Herbert Somerton] Foxwell should have his Fellowship renewed, believing that he has never been overpaid for his work and the amount of lecturing he is doing cannot be reimbursed by the college stipend. Without him the moral sciences staff 'would be crippled'. His lectures are bright and suggestive. 27 October 1898
