<dc:title>Letter from W C D [William Cecil Dampier] Whetham, Upwater Lodge, Cambridge, to [Joseph] Larmor</dc:title>
<dc:description>He sends the paper by [Will] Spens with some hesitation ['The relation between the osmotic pressure and the vapour pressure in a concentrated solution']. It is not as clear as Whetham would wish. Larmor was right in thinking that [Pierre Maurice Marie] Duhem noticed that osmotic pressure depended upon the hydrostatic pressure of the solvent. He still believes that Spens's paper should be published, if only as a correction of [Lord] Berkeley's result. He asks Larmor to send or return it, depending upon his opinion. </dc:description>
