<dc:title>Letter from T E [Thomas Edward] Thorpe, Whinfield, Salcombe, S Devon, to [Joseph] Larmor</dc:title>
<dc:description>He sends Larmor a scrap from the [Henry] Cavendish manuscripts relating to heat [not present] and wonders if it has any significance, written in about 1780. He gives his reasons for supposing this date. He has practically finished the work, getting his copy into final shape for Cambridge University Press. The memoir on aqueous vapour tension is very long, and he would wish to consult with Larmor, Rayleigh and J.J. [Thomson] on whether it is worthwhile publishing the mass of asociated figures and tables. </dc:description>
