<dc:title>Letter from T E [Thomas Edward] Thorpe, Whinfield, Salcombe, S Devon, to [Joseph] Larmor</dc:title>
<dc:description>He thanks Larmor for a note and enclosure. He has added [George Biddell] Airy's remarks to Larmor's paragraph from the paper in the Royal Astronomical Society Monthly Notices relating to the Schiehallion experiment. The University Press has set all all matter for which Thorpe is concerned, understanding that Larmor is taking over [Charles] Chree's paper on the dip needle and [Frank] Dyson's observations on [Henry] Cavendish's astronomy. These will be included in the [James] Clerk Maxwell reprint. Thorpe is especially keen that the dip needle paper should be published as an 'astonishing' example of Cavendish's perspicacity. </dc:description>
