Letter from J [Joseph] Larmor, St John's College, Cambridge, to [Micaiah John Muller] Hill He asks for Hill's views on a subject pressed from several sources, a recognition of the esteem in which H.S. [Herbert Somerton] Foxwell is held in Cambridge and London. Cambridge had hoped to recover him and create a school of practical economics, but the election was thwarted in favour of high abstract theory, in the absence of A.J. Balfour. Some talk of public protest has been dropped. London has gained but Larmor thinks that some mark of appreciation is called for and could be arranged for next October. Some of what he has written must be treated with caution. 12 June 1908
