<dc:title>Letter from James Dewar, 1 Scroope Terrace, Cambridge, to [Joseph] Larmor</dc:title>
<dc:description>Dewar has helped the interests of science with any money he has made, and to this end he had left a considerable part of his estate to the Royal Society. Following his talk with Larmor, he has written to his solicitors to add a revoking codicil to his will. This does not originate from personal enmity, but because he believes the best interests of the Royal Sociey are about to be compromised. Dewar's hands must be free to fight and this time the attack will be in public. In a postscript, he notes that his benefaction was not for any particular purpose and had no conditions. </dc:description>
