Letter from Edward P [Parnall] Culverwell, Trinity College Dublin, to [Joseph] Larmor Culverwell apologises for the delay in his response to Larmor, whch was due to a dislocated elbow. He congratulates Larmor on the possibility of his getting the Cavendish Professorship at the University of Cambridge. He states that he has been working on research into the 'criterion of max and min in the calculus of variations' for a paper he hopes to publish. 5 December 1884
