Letter from J A [James Alfred] Ewing, University of Edinburgh, to [Joseph] Larmor Ewing urges caution in committing to publish what [Henry] Tizard may write until they have seen it. Ewing does not think he writes well; much of the work described was confidential, and should not be published without official sanction. Even the few sentences written by Ewing in the memorial notice of B.H. [Bertram Hopkinson] on protection of ships was submitted to the Admiralty, and came back with a substantial amendment. 29 April [c.1920]
