<dc:title>Letter from Geo Fras [George Francis] Fitzgerald, 7 Ely Place, to [Joseph] Larmor</dc:title>
<dc:description>Fitzgerald notes the danger of bringing out results contradicting conservation of energy, and Larmor must explain where the energy comes from and goes to. Fitzgerald sees a way out of his own problem, but would like Larmior to state his solution. He notes a problem with Larmor's mercury drop. Fitzgerald does not think that disproving Larmor's stress will disprove that currents are carried by electrons. He will send references to [Oliver] Heaviside's work. He asks if he should try the mercury trough experiment again, with more judiciously designed poles. Larmor has fastened upon Fitzgerald's statement on ids, but amending it.</dc:description>
