James has written to him and sent [Arthur] Schuster's letter. Geikie has told him that vacancy would be filled from present staff and that [Francis Alexander] Towle should be appointed. James has written about his 'intense stress and strain' working at the Royal Society, but Geikie thinks that most work has been done for him by Mrs. Mackie. He invites Larmor to visit 'this bracing Alpine height'.  </dc:description>
