<dc:title>Letter from Arch [Archibald] Geikie, the Royal Society, Burlington House, London, to [Joseph] Larmor </dc:title>
<dc:description>He sends a list of Fellows of the Royal Society who are candidates for the Athenaeum. [Ernest Henry] Starling is most distinguished on the biological side, followed by [Frederick Walker] Mott, [John Bretland] Farmer or Haldane. He asks Larmor which three of those on the physical side would have the best claims. Geikie has picked out any who might come in under rule II, but none have a popular reputation and the committee is much influenced by popularity.

With a pencil list of Fellows in Larmor's hand.</dc:description>
