Letter from William Huggins, 90 Upper Tulse Hill, S W [South West] London, to the Secretary [Joseph Larmor] He commences with his view that 'No doubt Browne [not identified] is a crank'. Huggins has written to [John William Strutt, Lord] Rayleigh regarding the Radium Grant, and now an arrangement must be made with [Friedrich Oskar] Giesel or Curie, 'for the estimation of Ra [radium] from the Uranium residue promised next year'. He also has reminded the Austrian Ambassador of his promise, and has suggested that [George Downing] Liveing can see to this. He discusses [Ludwig] Mond, and that he thinks 'Mond was discouraged because he had not receieved any acknowledgement for his liberality at the Royal Institution and the Royal Society' and that 'with a little encouragement I think that Mond would give more'.
