Letter from Alex [Alexander] Larmor, 24 Mark Street, Portrush, to Joseph [Larmor] John is in the country, and Alexander gives an account of the attempted purchase of a farm, in a meeting with a Mr. McHenry. He summarises the likely financial arrangements, but thinks it would be best for Joseph to make an appointment with McHenry if he visits at Christmas, to go into the matter; the necessary affidavits could be made and business completed. Willie [William Wright Larmor] has finished the rifle range at Dundrum and has been appointed Assistant County Surveyor by the Down County Council. Alexander relays his address, noting that William can enter into private practice and has a salary of £130. Alexander intends to go to Bray to look after local examinations. John will stay in the country and appears a good deal better. 6 November 1899
