<dc:title>Letter from O J L [Oliver Joseph Lodge], 2 Grove Park, Liverpool, to [Joseph] Larmor</dc:title>
<dc:description>He thanks Larmor for the details he sent and it would have been too much joy to have been medalled alongside Rayleigh and Fitzgerald. He thinks that [George Francis] Fitzgerald will rejoice that [John] Kerr has got it first [the Royal Medal], as does Lodge, because of his age. He is glad that Larmor is staying on Council [of the Royal Society]. Lodge is not as clear as Larmor about Gardiner; he would like to have seen [William] Bateson recognised, but 'the Zoologists are down on him'. The Darwin Medal awarded to 'K.P.' [Karl Pearson] is an extraordinary thing. He wonders why it should not have gone to [William] Weldon or [Edward Bagnell] Poulton, but realises they were on Council. He wonders why [Alfred Bray] Kempe was made Treasurer and apologises for his many queries. </dc:description>
