<dc:title>Letter from Thos H [Thomas Howell] Laby, Wellington Club, Wellington, N.Z. [New Zealand], to [Joseph] Larmor</dc:title>
<dc:description>Congratulating Larmor on his knighthood and his work as secretary of the Royal Society. Two days ago he received 5 1/2 milligrams of radium bromide from Professor [Ernest] Rutherford and this will make teaching a good course possible. He can see his way to continue his gamma ray research. [David Kennedy] Picken is teaching mathematics and [Thomas] Easterfield chemistry. The main difficulty is poor libraries. Most periodicals are available in Sydney, but he comments on the distance involved. </dc:description>
