<dc:title>Letter from E [Ernest] Rutherford, 17 Wilmslow Road, Withington, Manchester, to [Joseph] Larmor </dc:title>
<dc:description>He received Larmor's telegram stating that he could be in London and was consulting Charles Parsons again. Rutherford proposes to meet Larmor at the Athenaeum or at the Savile Club. He is much worried about the whole situation, and particularly with J.J.T. [Joseph John Thomson] where 'the situation bristles with difficulties'. He describes the possible difficulties with students, working space, and the cost of laboratory equipment. He must clear these matters up before he can make a decision; he is comfortable at Manchester University, which will do anything within reason for him. He must have a heart-to-heart talk with Larmor. </dc:description>
