<dc:title>Letter from Benjamin Martin, Wicomb, to Martin Folkes</dc:title>
<dc:description>Has received letters from Folkes and from Sir Hans Sloane. The latter said he would show Martin's second letter [regarding his wish to become a Fellow] to the Society, Martin hopes it will be better received. He asks that his name not be put to ballot for Fellowship unless there is a 'pretty certain' chance of a favourable outcome as he feels to fail would be a 'fatal event'. Martin will comply with all membership rules, requirements and subscription fees. Martin will call on Folkes before he moves to reading in five weeks. </dc:description>
