Letter from Thomas Henry Huxley, 14 Waverley Place, St John's Wood, to William Sharpey He has been looking at [Albany} Hancock's paper and proposes a form of words in recommending him for a Royal Medal. Huxley states that 'I do not believe that anyone either here or on the continent has published within the last ten years better or more important work'. He would have been more forward in promoting Hancock's claims, but deferred to Darwin, who thought that [John Obadiah] Westwood's claims were as good. 16 June 1857
