<dc:title>Field notebook kept during the Royal Society Expedition to Southern Chile, by Martin Holdgate</dc:title>
<dc:description>Notebook containing records of biological sampling in Chile, South America. Continuing from the previous volume [MS/955/2] with Chiloe field stations HP1-HP17, at the Cordillera San Pedro; moving to Puerto Eden, Isla Wellington, stations HE1-HE25; in transit samples HM1-HM 4; and finally at Puerto Williams, Isla Navarino, stations HW1-HW32. Various collecting techniques were employed, including wet funnel, sweeping, beating from forest, and collections from under stones. The notebook contains occasional sketches, graphs, and tables, and there is a draft proposal for a future expedition to Chile [pp.86-90]. The later pages are reversed [pp.92-102] with a list of scenes captured by cine film, numbered 1-59.
