Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to John Norman Collie Collie's application to the Government Grant was passed on to the Council of the Royal Society who have granted the sum of £15 from their own funds for the purpose of reaserching the petrology of the volcanic action of hydrocloric acid and haloid compounds of hydro-carbon radicals, on the amide of aceto acetic ethyl ether. Collie's report on his research should be addressed to the Secretary of the Royal Society, and headed 'Donation Fund'. Encloses cheque for £15 herewith. 30 December 1885
