  <dc:description>Encloses a receipt for Sharp's cheque [not attached]. Sharp is correct; there are only three Fellows senior to himself now in order of election. Next to Sharp in order of election comes Sir W R Grove. In age Rix believes Sharp is the most senior of all.

Regarding the letter Sharp returned, Rix is sorry the Society's assistant misdirected it. It was intended for a more junior Dr Sharp, whom it has safely now reached.</dc:description>
