The delay in publishing Barton's paper has been unavoidable. It will appear in the number of the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' now passing through the press but it will not be possible for them to issue separate copies much in advance of publication, as it is a strict rule of the Society that separate copies shall be paged with the same paging as the publication in which they appear. 21 December 1894
