  <dc:description>Welter's letter dated 30 December, to the Treasurer [John Evans] has arrived and Rix is instructed to explain that the reduction in the price of the 'Transactions [of the Royal Society]' is only made to Fellows. The university library at Clermont-Ferraud cannot come under that category as the Fellowship is only bestowed upon individuals. Rix therefore returns Welter's cheque of £17-5-1 regretting that they are not able to execute the order. </dc:description>
