<dc:title>Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to the Secretary, Franklin Institute, Philadelphia</dc:title>
<dc:description>In March 1893 the Institute purchased from the Royal Society through Mr F Ransome, then of 42 Melbourne Grove, East Dulwich, certain publications of the Society the total charge for which was £27. £24 was received in payment and in a letter from Ransome dated 29th March 1893, Ransome acknowledges his indebtedness for the balance of £3. The Society has several times sent Ransome the account for this amount but it has remained unsettled and a letter sent to the aforementioned address on 20th September has been returned marked 'house empty'. Hopes the Institute will settle this small matter at their earliest convenience.</dc:description>
