<dc:title>Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to W Wilfred Webb, Odstock, Netley Abbey, Hants</dc:title>
<dc:description>In answer to Webb's letter of yesterday they cannot give Webb much information about Sir John Shadwell. He was elected Fellow on 20 November 1701 and admitted on the 3 December. There is one paper by him in the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]', an account of an extraordinary skeleton, and he died on 4 January 1747.

Dr E J Syemour was elected as a Fellow on 17 June 1841 and died in 1866 having read no papers before the Society.</dc:description>
