Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to W Wilfred Webb, Odstock, Netley Abbey, Hants In answer to Webb's letter of yesterday they cannot give Webb much information about Sir John Shadwell. He was elected Fellow on 20 November 1701 and admitted on the 3 December. There is one paper by him in the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]', an account of an extraordinary skeleton, and he died on 4 January 1747. Dr E J Syemour was elected as a Fellow on 17 June 1841 and died in 1866 having read no papers before the Society. 17 July 1895
