Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to C T Hagberg Wright, Librarian, London Library, St James's Square, S.W. Rix believes that unwanted duplicates should be returned to the Royal Society, as other libraries were mentioned in case the books were not wanted by the London Library. He is glad if less money than formerly is spent on novels, noting that Hagberg Wright is in a better position to know about the possibilities of weeding. Rix believes that the wives and daughters of members make particular use of the novels, so it must be hard for the committee to keep a firm front and prevent depature from the library's original intention. 27 November 1895
