Encloses a cheque for £30 in pursuance of a resolution of the Water Research Committee and asks for acknowledgement on the enclosed receipt [not attached]. States the resolution of the Committee; that the honorarium of £30[?] and a sum of £30 for expenses be paid to Dr Kanthack to continue his research according to the memorandum prepared by Kanthack. It was further resolved that Kanthack be requested to report progress to the Committee not later than next November. 9 July 1896
